Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
Eternity Vault, operated by Eternity Vault LLC ("we," "us," "our"), is built to record and preserve a person's life. We take that responsibility seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, a unique username (@handle), and a password.
- Profile details: things like your name, date of birth, hometown, a short bio, an epitaph line, and a favorite color you choose to display.
- Your memories: the photos, videos, titles, captions, stories, voice notes, dates, and locations you add — and the people you tag in them.
- Messages: messages you send to other members through the app.
Information collected automatically
- Location for a memory: if you add a location to a memory, your device may turn it into a standardized place (city, region, country) so your memories can be grouped and mapped. What you typed is always kept exactly as written.
- Basic usage and device information: limited technical information needed to run the service, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.
- Public view counts: a rolling count of profile views powers a "trending" list of public profiles. This is the only engagement-style metric we keep.
How we use your information
- To create your account and build and display your journey.
- To let the people you tag confirm the moments they shared with you.
- To let you connect and communicate with other members.
- To keep the service safe — including responding to reports and enforcing our rules.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- We do not run an endless feed or engagement-maximizing algorithm.
How your information is stored and shared
Your data is stored with our hosting and infrastructure providers, who process it on our behalf to run the service. Content you choose to make public — such as your journey and profile — can be seen by others. Content you keep private is not.
Keeping your memories, and getting them out
Eternity Vault is built for permanence. You can export and download your own archive at any time — we don't hold your memories hostage. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal data, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
Legacy and memorialization
Eternity Vault includes features that allow a journey to be preserved after a person has passed away. When a journey is memorialized, it is kept exactly as its author left it and is no longer editable. Details of how this works are described within the app.
Children
Eternity Vault is not directed to children, and you must meet the minimum age required in your country (and at least 13) to use it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To make a request, email us at brandon@eternity-vault.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
